POCONO TOWNSHIP -- Camelback Lodge in Monroe County just completed Phase 2 of its multi-million dollar Aquatopia project. A new spa, a ski-in, ski-out restaurant, and more than 200 new rooms are all officially open at Camelback's indoor water park giving guests even more options to enjoy year round.

Kids and kids at heart have been riding the waves at Camelback's Aquatopia indoor waterpark for a few months now. The rooms are booked solid.

"I think it's pretty fun. You have a lot of stuff you can do. You can go rock climbing. You can go in the water," said Sydny Douglas of Long Island.

The family from Long Island came to enjoy the resort for a three-day weekend.

"We went to Disney before and how do you top Disney? This place comes pretty close. They say it's on par with Disney, so it's pretty good," said Stacy Burgess Long Island.

But this weekend there's now even more to enjoy. Phase 2 is complete and Serenity Spa is open inside the waterpark, offering manicures, pedicures, massages, and lots of relaxing treatments.

The Trails End Restaurant opened, too.

"It's going to be a ski-in, ski-out valet here. You come in and check your skis, hop on in," said Jeffrey Mead, food and beverage manager.

Now that the resort is fully open, you have to stay overnight to use the waterpark. But the new restaurant and spa is open to anybody.

One of the menu items chefs hope people will kick back and enjoy is a 55-ounce tomahawk chop, perfect for sharing and pairing with a cocktail or brew from the new bar.

"It's definitely something good to pack some protein in to get back in the waterpark or on the slopes or on the zip line, mountain biking, ropes course."

More than 200 new rooms are also open, adding to the 200 that opened in May. Suites all have a mountain modern motif.

And it's a vacation some guests already are recommending.

"The food is good. The rooms are good. Everything is really, really excellent quality," Burgess said.
