WILKES-BARRE -- A fire marshal is trying to figure out the cause of an early morning fire in Wilkes-Barre.

Flames broke out around 2 a.m. at the double block home on North Washington Street.

The fire chief said the fire was mostly kept to a room on the second floor, but some flames did manage to reach the attic.

According to the owner of the building, both sides of the home are damaged by the fire.

The owner said three adults and a 12-year-old girl lived here.

Everyone in the double block made it out okay.

Late Friday afternoon, the fire chief told Newswatch 16 the fire was intentionally set.

No one has been charged at this time.

A dog was rescued from the burning home. A Pomeranian named Gucci was pulled from the flames. The dog needed laser eye surgery and had singed hair because of the intense heat. The dog was recovering Friday night.
