LUZERNE COUNTY -- Nearly four years after the brutal rape of a woman in Luzerne County, state police said they have the man who did it.
Michael Angelo Foschini, 25, of Nanticoke was arraigned Friday. Troopers believe he abducted the woman from Carey Avenue in Wilkes-Barre in December of 2011. The victim claims Foschini drove her to Exaltation of the Holy Cross and St. Joseph's Cemetery in Plymouth Township where he raped her.
In December of 2014, Foschini was arrested for a shooting in Wilkes-Barre. Police took his DNA, and that sample matched the DNA sample taken from the rape victim.
In addition to assault charges for the shooting, Foschini is now charged with kidnapping and rape.
