SCRANTON -- Police in Scranton said they made an arrest Wednesday afternoon in a case of arson.

Fire wrecked a home along 12th Avenue over the weekend.

On Wednesday, police said they arrested Diomedes Ceballos, the owner of the home that burned.

Police had named his brother, Aurelio Ceballos, as a person of interest in the arson, but he was later found dead with bad burns in another part of the city.

The coroner called Aurelio Ceballos' death a homicide.

Diomedes Ceballos was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pains just before he was to be arraigned.

He was released from the hospital late Wednesday night and taken to the Lackawanna County prison where he was arraigned.

The Lackawanna County District Attorney's Office says Diomedes Ceballos was charged with one count of second degree murder, six counts of arson, two counts of reckless endangerment, and insurance fraud.

Police said Diomedes Ceballos arranged to have his brother burn down the house for insurance money and promised his brother $5,000.
