BUTLER TOWNSHIP -- Some folks took a trip back in history in Luzerne County on Saturday.

150 years ago, President Abraham Lincoln's funeral train passed through Pennsylvania to his final resting place in Illinois.

Civil War reenactors led a horse-drawn hearse carrying a replica of Lincoln's coffin from Saint Paul's Methodist Church in Drums.

There were photographs and news accounts from the era as well.

Guests say events like this are a great way to learn about national and local history.

"As you look around, there's a lot of young people and it's so important that we instill in the youth our history and our past," said Sharon Reed of Sugarloaf.

The Lehigh Valley Historical Museum loaned all of the memorabilia that was on display in Luzerne County.
