PLYMOUTH -- A bank in Luzerne County was held up Friday morning by somebody who appeared to be wearing a disguise which included a fake beard.

Authorities have not yet released the surveillance video or a description of the robber who held up Wells Fargo on East Main Street in Plymouth. In the meantime, the bank decided to remain closed for rest of the day.

Local police, state police, and FBI agents taped off the area around the bank for about two hours as they investigated. They fingerprinted the bank doors and brought in dogs.

Police said a bank teller called 911 around 10 a.m. Friday to say they were just robbed. Police added the teller told the operator the man may have been wearing a disguise that included a fake beard and sunglasses.

"It's a low life thing to do and I am just glad nobody was injured."

Like many bank customers on a Friday, Cindy and Arlene Lange showed up at the bank expecting to cash their paychecks and pay bills, but were shocked to find out it had been robbed.

"I came here to the bank to do my banking and discovered it had been robbed about 20 minutes ago," said Cindy Lange of Plymouth.

"I was like, 'Oh wow, the parking lot is empty. Nobody is here. We are lucky!' You'd expect the bank to be packed and then I found out it was robbed," Arlene Lange of Plymouth said.

The Wells Fargo Bank in Plymouth decided to close for the day following the bank robbery and rerouted all of their customers to the branch in Edwardsville.

"I hope they find him. I just hope they find him so we can go back to the bank."

Francis Eyerman of Plymouth and his family bank at the Wells Fargo in Plymouth. He's irritated with the robber whose actions are affecting all the customers there.

"My mom and stepdad just bought that bar on the corner and everything. And that's just holding up our supplies and everything, too. People basically ruined our day. It's just messed up. The whole town's getting weird," Eyerman said.

We reached out to the FBI. The agency hopes to release pictures from the surveillance soon as well as a description of the robber.
