FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP -- The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF1 tornado touched down in Lycoming County Thursday leaving one business with a lot of damage to clean up.

At Marshalek's Fruit Farm the family said it takes years to grow the trees that it took only seconds for the tornado to destroy.

Utility workers fixed downed wires alongside Quaker State Road where dozens of trees were ripped from their roots. The NWS said an EF1 tornado, with winds up to 100 miles per hour, touched down near Montoursville.

Darren Webb of Muncy was visiting the Herr family at their home during the storm. He caught the funnel cloud on video.

"I just saw a lot of wind. The rain went sideways. The clouds were dark. It was like very much out of a movie," said Webb.

"We came out. We saw the funnel cloud go down. We didn't actually see it hit anything. We did know it was a funnel cloud that came down and hit up at Marshalek's Fruit Farm," said Natalie Herr of Fairfield Township.

Before the storm, there were acres of trees filled with peaches that would have been ready to pick in about two weeks.

"Went looked out here and just about that time the top of the barn flies over and lands on our one pickup truck," Raymond Marshalek said.

Marshalek was at his fruit farm during the storm. There are about five acres of peach, cherry, and apple trees damaged at the fruit farm. Marshalek said the loss of crop could cost him tens of thousands of dollars.

"I look at that this section here and I just say, 'What do I do? What's my first move?' And that's just what I'm trying to assess right now."

While Marshalek still has acres of land and fruit to pick, he says this damage will affect his business for years.

The National Weather Service has also determined that an EF0 tornado hit near Selinsgrove in Snyder County, causing mostly tree and crop damage.

The NWS also said an EF1 tornado was responsible for ripping the roof off and severely damaging Blue Mountain Adventist Elementary School in Hamburg. You can see the inside of classrooms, hallways, and even the gym. School officials say two people were inside at the time, both were not hurt.
