WILKES-BARRE -- A free Fourth of July event aimed at keeping kids safe on their bikes will mark its eighth year Saturday!

'HKQ Kids'which is affiliated with the Luzerne County law firm, Hourigan Kluger and Quinn, will once again host its annual bike helmet giveaway.

The Fourth of July event runs Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre.

"It`s for children 12 and under. They have to be accompanied by an adult. And what we`re trying to do is the get the message out there. You need to wear a bike helmet. It`s cool to be in a bike helmet...besides it being a safety issue," said Sue Greenfield with HKQ's bicycle helmet giveaway.

It is the state law for children 12 and under to wear a bike helmet. To learn more about the free bicycle helmet giveaway tomorrow in Wilkes-Barre.
