LUZERNE COUNTY -- Police in Luzerne County believe the same man may have robbed two mini-marts.

A photo shows the robber wearing a grey hoodie with a distinctive deer emblem on the back and dark-colored bandana covering his face.

The crook forced a mini mart-employee at Turkey Hill on Rutter Avenue in Kingston to open a cash register before taking off.

Then police say the bandit may have come to Joe's Kwik Mart on Route 315 near Pittston. As an employee was sweeping outside, the robber waited in the fridge area before pulling out a box cutter.

"For it to happen right before I come into work, it's pretty scary!" store employee Morgan Sheplock said.

Sheplock's shift at Joe's Kwik Mart started after the robbery happened.

"Everyone wants to be able to come to work and be safe and not have to worry about anything happening," Sheplock said.

A Joe's Kwik Mart employee who didn't want to be identified said the situation is unnerving, but thinks his fellow employee who was robbed did the right thing.

"He had a knife in his hand, like a box-cutter, and told him to give him everything in the drawer," the employee said. "Do whatever the guy says. He's the one with the weapon. Do whatever he says. Just keep yourself safe. That's all you could do."

The stores aren't releasing how much money was taken, but shoppers say they hope the robber is caught.

"The desperation that people feel, it's really unfortunate," said Hana Bayou of Pittston.

Police in Kingston and in Pittston Township ask if you have any information, to give them a call.
