SELINSGROVE -- The family of a hit and run victim in Snyder County traveled cross-country from Washington state so they could be with the woman who is seriously injured. At the same time, police are trying to find the driver who hit the woman in Selinsgrove Friday night.

Selinsgrove police say they believe they found the vehicle that hit Katherine Blann on Friday night and drove away. Police say they do have a person of interest in the case, but are not ready charge anyone yet.

Katherine's children traveled cross-country to be with their mother while she recovers.

What was supposed to be a fun dinner with a friend turned tragic Friday night for Katherine Blann after she left Bott's Tavern in Selinsgrove.

Selinsgrove police say Blann left dinner and was hit by a white Jeep. The Jeep did not stop and left her critically hurt in the middle of the street.

Police say they believe they have now found that white Jeep. Police also say they have a person of interest, but have not filed any charges.

"My mom, as small as she is, she's already so frail and fragile," Ariel St. Clair said.

Newswatch 16 spoke with two of Blann's children before they visited their mother at Geisinger Medical center near Danville. Jules and Ariel St. Clair are from Washington state and got the phone call soon after it happened.

"I knew that I needed to get to my mother as soon as I possibly could because she's the kind of person that needs someone there for her," Jules said.

Blann is still in critical condition, but after several surgeries her children say she is doing better.

"She was smiling with her eyes and nodding yes or no. I asked her if she was in pain and she said no," Jules said.

After Katherine's kids found out what happened, they were worried how they'd be able to afford to fly across the country to be with their mother. That's when the Go Fund Me account was set up and the donations started pouring in.

"People from the woodwork are just coming out to help us. People who have met my mom once or a million times. Family friends from when we were younger to people we've met just once or not even ever," Ariel said.

Blann's daughter has a message for the driver of the Jeep.

"You already have that guilt over your shoulders so why not just come out with it. I don't know how you can live with yourself," Ariel said.

Katherine Blann recently moved to Snyder County to work for a company that teaches English to foreign language students on the Susquehanna University campus.
