BEAR CREEK TOWNSHIP -- Police are looking to see if alcohol was involved in a motorcycle accident that happened early Wednesday morning.
Police believe Lamar Dawson, 27, of Wilkes-Barre was riding on White Haven Road, when he lost control of his bike, swerved into a guide rail, and got thrown almost nine feet away from the motorcycle.
White Haven Road is a winding road that zigzags for miles. People who drive through it say you have to pay extra close attention.
"There's a lot of curves this road, you know, people drive a little fast sometimes. I don't know what the situation was, but it is a curvy road," said Ron Deputy, who lives in Bear Creek.
Police are also now looking to see if alcohol was involved. The victim's Facebook shows a status posted shortly before his death that reads, "I'm drunk, lol."
The Luzerne County Coroner's office is waiting now for the results of blood testing. That could take weeks.
Meanwhile, friends and co-workers of the former Mohegan Sun employee are grieving. Mohegan Sun Pocono president Mike Bean said, "he was a longtime team member, well-liked, and our deep sympathies go out to his family."
