HANOVER TOWNSHIP -- A broken pipe has a road in Luzerne County closed.

The Sans Souci Parkway is closed in both directions between Carey Avenue and St. Mary's Road due to a water main break.

Crews are still working to fix the pipe that broke around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

There's no time frame on how long those repairs will take. All anyone is saying is that this stretch of road could be closed for most of the day.

Pennsylvania American Water is still trying to isolate the leak.

Crews have been out here for hours after the 24-inch water main broke more than seven hours ago.

The Sans Souci Parkway is closed in both directions between St. Mary's Road and Carey Avenue.

Even though the pipe is broken, water is getting through to some homes and businesses in this area. Pennsylvania American does not have a number on just how many are affected, but the water company says as soon as crews isolate the leak they will likely have to turn off the water to everyone in the area.

Some businesses say that will be a problem.

"Monday and Tuesday are our busiest days. It's going to really affect our business. We need water to run our boiler to wash our clothes," said Donna Weaver at Elegant Cleaners. "Everything here runs on water."

There are at least a dozen Pennsylvania American Water workers trying to fix this water main break.

Until the main is fixed, this road will remain closed.
