BARTONSVILLE -- An Armed Forces recruiting center in the Poconos now has a new home.

It was moving day in Bartonsville for the Army, Navy, and Marines.

The Armed Forces Career Center finally has the all clear to move into a brand new home just off Route 611.

"We've been at a temporary location on Main Street for about a year now and we're here at a permanent location on 105 Terrace Lane," said Army recruiter Staff Sgt. Erik Betlaf.

Soldiers, sailors, and Marines worked together to unload furniture into the new space. This is the first time the recruiting center in the Poconos has a facility to call its own, something these military men and women believe will make a difference.

"I think it's going to be a perfect addition to the Marine Corps and all of the other branches to help us actually be able to reach the young kids and the future Marines, soldiers, sailors, to help them with their futures," said Marine Corps Recruiter Staff Sgt. Christopher Georgia.

This new location sits right off Route 611 in Bartonsville and officials with the Armed Forces Career Center say they're hoping it leads to more foot traffic in their brand new building.

It also solves a problem the Stroudsburg location presented.

"Parking was a big issue and it was a struggle, but now hopefully with this new facility it will alleviate that and help us focus on our mission," said Navy Recruiter Petty Officer 1st Class Seth Deboer.

Even though the furniture is still being unloaded and arranged, these military recruiters say they plan to be back to their main mission very soon.

"We expect to be up and operating at our office here hopefully by tomorrow morning, we'll be good to go," said Staff Sgt. Betlaf.
