WEST MAHANOY TOWNSHIP -- Authorities in Schuylkill County say the coroner was called to the scene of an apparent drowning.
Investigators said around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, crews began a recovery effort at a fishing hole near Lost Creek in West Mahanoy Township after reports of someone jumping into the water and not resurfacing.
The coroner said a 16-year-old boy was pulled from the water in an area known as "Suckers Pit Fishing Hole." He was pronounced dead at 9:45 p.m. The deputy coroner identified the victim as Tolik Stutts of Shenandoah.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
