SCRANTON -- Police are investigating a home invasion after reports that two men with weapons broke into a home and attacked the people who live there.

For hours, police officers patrolled part of the city's south side in riot gear looking for two men who broke into a home on Grimes Court.

Police explained that the man and woman who live at the home were able to flee and run for help, but not before suffering significant injuries. The woman had to be taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center.

Jeff Kinderman  lives right near the home, and was the one who made the call to 911.

"Two teenagers, a boy and a girl, come running out of the house, screaming for their lives, gut wrenching screams, and yelling for help," he explained. "I just happened to be working in my backyard and had a cell phone and I made the phone call to 911."

At this time, no arrests have been made and it's unclear if the two men took anything from the home in South Scranton.
