Chef Jake’s Pretzel Sugar Cookie         Yield: 4 doz.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ¾ c. flour, all-purpose
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tlb. salt
  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 1 ½ c. sugar, granulated
  • 1 ea. egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • crushed pretzels as needed

Procedure:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees in a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls.

Now in a separate bowl with crushed pretzels, roll balls and place onto un-greased cookie sheets.

Bake 15 to 18 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.
