SCRANTON -- The summer-like weather of the past few days is gone, a sudden end to the unseasonably warm weather.

With temperatures dipping below 50 degrees, the North Pocono Trojan baseball team shivered through a windy practice Wednesday afternoon.

"Coaches today said we went from spring to fall. We missed summer. We had three days of summer, those days of 80s, seemed like three days of summer," said Coach Brian Jardine.

"Now, it's like winter all over again," said senior player Alex Smith.

Most of the coaches and players were wearing long-sleeves, but there were those who did not have cool weather clothing and they had a hard time.

"It's definitely a big difference. It was kind of unexpected today and we just tried to keep our arms warm," said junior Charlie Lamparter who was wearing a t-shirt.

At nearby Tasty Swirl in Covington Township, business was a bit slow.

"Mother's Day was one of our busiest days. The line was actually so long, we close at 9 o'clock we ended up closing at 9:30. Today, I came in at 1 and there's only been like five or six people throughout the whole day, so the weather definitely affects our business," said employee Shelby Aston.

"It's not easy having weather go back and forth like this. I think sometimes it leads to some sickness or illness, too, and we've seen that with the squad like that, yeah, but it's part of the deal," said Jardine.
