SCHUYLKILL HAVEN -- A nursing home in Schuylkill County has a new buyer for the second time this year.

County commissioners decided to sell Rest Haven Nursing Home last year.

Back in February, Nationwide Health Care Services agreed to buy the facility for $12.5 million.

Then last month, county leaders said the company backed out of the deal for financial reasons.

Schuylkill County commissioners went back to the drawing board.

"We had a meeting yesterday with the employees and the families. We had no problem selling it. It was just a business decision Nationwide had made," said Schuylkill County Commissioner George Halcovage Jr.

Investment 360, which owns two other nursing homes in Pennsylvania, has agreed to buy Rest Haven for almost $10.9 million.

The company wants spend half a million dollars on improvements to the building and promised to keep all the current staff and residents.

"The staff, which are the most important thing going on here, they're the heart and soul of the building, that we can improve the lives of the current residents who are here," said Lisa Sofia from Investment 360.

Employees, residents, and family members said they're glad the sale could finally go through, so they can stop answering questions and focus on the number one thing here: the residents.

"It's going to be nice because they're not going to change the name of the facility, so it's going to be the same people taking care of the same residents," said Joe Fesniak, an employee at Rest Haven.

Rest Haven employee Marla Loper said, "the company that's coming in sounds like they really want to do a lot for the community and our residents."

If all goes as planned, commissioners will finalize the sale next week and Investment 360 will take over Rest Haven this fall.
