WNEP Awarded Three PAB Prizes

HERSHEY -- WNEP-TV and wnep.com have been awarded three Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters awards.

The awards were presented Monday at a ceremony in Hershey.

WNEP won for the following submissions:

  • Outstanding use of digital media – Television: The “Apparently Kid”; Creating a Viral Sensation, Shawn Dunn and our digital content team.
  • Outstanding Television Feature Story/Report/Series: “16 Salutes Ron Frost & Jeff Farrow” (two area men who took in Sharon Budd’s Ohio family while she was recovering in the hospital), Nikki Krize and Tom Durant.
  • Outstanding Investigative Story/Report/Series: “Free Health Insurance for the Influential” (former Scranton School District employees were still getting health insurance from the district), Dave Bohman and Steve Smallwood.
