LEHIGH TOWNHIP -- Some hunters found a human skull earlier this week in Wayne County.
Two hunters were out scouting a location deep in the woods in Lehigh Township in Wayne County on Tuesday. That's when, police say, they stumbled upon the human skull.
Troopers and Lehigh Township police have opened up a joint investigation.
It was miles back in woods off Route 507, just north of Gouldsboro. State police say they have sent the skull to an anthropologist for testing. Until those test results come back, police don't know much about how old the skull is or where it came from.
Troopers were expected back at the scene Thursday afternoon to continue investigating.
So far, police are not saying if they think the skull may be related to any open missing person's cases.
