ANDREAS — The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for the person who shot a bald eagle outside the community of Andreas close to the Schuylkill/Carbon County line.
Someone heard a gunshot last week and then found the bird.
Wildlife agents recovered the bald eagle near the intersection of Germans and Stone Mountain Roads.
Federal law prohibits the killing of bald eagles.
Convictions carry a maximum $250,000 fine and up to two years in prison.
