WILLIAMSPORT -- Police in Williamsport swarmed a bar early Saturday morning after reports of a shooting.

Now, investigators say one victim is dead and two others are hurt.

Just a short time ago, about two dozen friends and family members gathered at the scene on Fifth Avenue in Williamsport to remember the man who was killed in that shooting. His name is Yusef Wilson.

Mourners released balloons into the sky and played the victim's favorite songs.

This incident comes just a week after shots rang out at a different nightspot in the city.

The sign outside The 5th Avenue Tavern in Williamsport says "put down your guns."

Police and ambulances were called to the bar in the early morning hours after detectives say Derrick Boone opened fire during a fight.

Yusef Wilson was killed. Police say he threw a chair at Boone and Boone retaliated.

Ronald James was luckier. "I got shot, pieces of the bullet went in." The bullet only hit his leg.

"It's scary, it's how it be in the movies, you get shot, people crying, people screaming, a lot of screaming going on, 'watch out, oh my god he is shot,'" said James.

James says he knew Wilson, the man who was killed, for years.

"Always spoke to me, always told me to keep myself out of trouble, keep playing sports you know, sad to see him go," he added.

James says he also knew the other victim, a woman who was shot in the leg too, but he did not recognize the accused gunman Derrick Boone.

He went on to say that even after he was shot in a bar, he plans to keep going out at night, but he might start heading home a bit earlier.

"I can't make Williamsport safer, I don't have the power to do that, it is up to the mayor, the police, the city itself, I do what I can to help little kids, teaching them the right and wrong."

This is the second shooting in Williamsport in one week. This past Saturday, April 18, five people were wounded when shots were fired outside Imbibe Lounge on Pine Street. So far, no arrests have been made in connection with that shooting.

During a news conference at city hall police said there is no evidence the two cases are connected.

Renee Alston, of Williamsport, is getting ready to sell the house she owns right across the street from The 5th Avenue Tavern.

"Sad, sad, sad, very sad, to hear it, because I am doing a lot of work over here, I am a property owner, and it definitely affects me," said Alston.

While she's able to clean out her garage, she wonders how Williamsport can rid its neighborhoods of gun violence.
