Widespread power outages are affecting multiple counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
UPDATE : As of 11:45 a.m. on Monday, 2300 people were left without power.
Earlier in the day, 8:30 a.m., that number was much higher. Nearly 9000 homes and business in Northeastern Pennsylvania were without electricity.
Half of those outages were in Monroe County, with the majority of additional outages in Luzerne, Susquehanna and Northumberland Counties.
The Stormtracker 16 team said our area Monday morning experienced gale force winds reaching 50 miles per hour, to near 70 miles per hour in the highest elevations.
