TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP -- A library in the Poconos looking to remodel is getting help from interior architecture majors at Marywood University in Lackawanna County.
Students in this studio are drawing, designing, and building models -- all for free.
That will help bring a breath of fresh air to this library in the Poconos.
"I wanted to get fresh eyes and see what we could create in the space that we have," said library director Laura Laspee.
The Clymer Library partnered with Marywood's Interior Architecture Program and the work began early spring semester.
Zachary Thompson drew up plans for a new children's library -- one that has a cube theme and areas for exploring, playing, and learning.
"Have a space that they would want to come back to so when their parents are driving down the road, they could be like, 'let's go play in the cubes,'" said Thompson.
Jude Saforo tediously works on his 3-D design for the new senior space -- finding a balance between traditional and modern.
"When they come to the library, it's almost like they never really left their home and they feel more at home," said Saforo.
One of the toughest rooms is the teen center. This design has been in the works for months. It's one Jackie Kirby from Tunkhannock says she hopes they enjoy.
"There's televisions, laptops, anything that you might not be able to afford at home, or not even have at home you can get here, so I think that's the best part about it," said Kirby.
Now the board and the community have the difficult decision of deciding which designs they like for all of this space before they can turn a new page at the Clymer Library.
"No one did the same thing. We were just given a wish list and everyone came up with something completely different and unique from it," said interior architecture senior Michelle Calabrese.
There are even designs for a new cafe space.
Library users in this community near Mount Pocono can view the designs beginning in May and vote on their favorites, as their design team prepares for graduation.
"It's great working with the clients and having our teachers mentor us along, and trying to give back to the community," said Thompson.
The library hopes to choose a design, and begin renovations within the next several months.
