Are you looking for something fun to do with the kids that doesn't cost a lot of money?

Lumi-Dough may be the answer.

And, Kurt Aaron finds out if it lives up to its promise of hours of fun in "Does It Really Work?"

The maker claims, you can make lots of neat glow-in-the-dark things with Lumi-Dough. It's like play dough but way cooler!

It doesn't leave sticky residue, it glows in the dark and can be heated to permanently keep what ever your child made.   It comes in different colors and includes cut-outs your child can use to make stars and other things. But does it really work?

To find out, Kurt went to the home of the Collins family.  Cory and Stacey have four children and another one on the way.  The kids are really excited to try Lumi-Dough.

Everyone gets started by reading the instructions and figuring out what's included in the kit.  Quickly, they find five colors of dough, cut-outs, baking sheets and black dough that doesn't glow in the dark.  That's to create things like a mouth, eyes or any part you don't want to glow!

The kids just dive right in.  The box says Lumi-Dough is for kids older than four.  But, we decided to let Korey and his little sister Mariah play too.  They didn't have any problem making things with the Lumi-Dough as well.

Natalya, the oldest, wasn't interested in using the cut-outs.  She wanted to create her own masterpiece from her own imagination.  As soon as she does, she goes right to the closet to see if the dalmatian she just made will glow.

It glows brightly and doesn't stick to the walls or leave a sticky residue.

The maker claims, if you make something that you want to keep permanently, no problem!   Just simply bake in the oven for ten minutes on 380 degrees.   What did Mom and Dad think of Lumi-Dough?

Stacey said she liked that it didn't leave a mess on the kids' hands, or the furniture.

Corey said the glow-in-the-dark feature made the Lumi-Dough stand out from other toys.

The Collins family are fans of Lumi-Dough and they give it thumbs up!
