LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- Interstate 81 northbound was down to one lane at the Main Avenue/Dickson City exit while crews paved a ramp overnight Monday.

It was just one of the delays drivers experienced in Lackawanna County.

"I think some people leaving for work in the morning might have some trouble with 81 closing down. Might cause some headaches," said Cyle Fron of Scott Township.

PennDOT officials said overnight Tuesday into Wednesday the I-81 North and Southbound ramps from Business Route 6 in Dickson City will be closed too, when the fewest drivers will be on the road. Still, officials predict "significant delays."

"Just gonna mess up everybody's day," said Ryan Reider of Scranton.

North Keyser Avenue in Scranton is not far from the interstate roadwork. Part of that roadway is under construction too, from Ferdinand Street to West Market Street. The road is being repaved, causing traffic troubles. The work is expected to last a couple weeks.

"It's a little slow at first, but I'm glad they're finally doing some work on it. It's about time. It was a brutal winter for drivers and I'm just glad they're starting to do some work on it," said Eric Zimmer of Scranton.

"They definitely need to be fixed. The potholes anywhere around here in Scranton are terrible," said Fron.
