DICKSON CITY -- The former first lady and secretary of state made her announcement Sunday on YouTube.
"I'm getting ready to do something too," said Hillary Clinton. "I'm running for president."
Clinton is no stranger to our area. She passed through our area on her previous campaign run.
Her father was born in Scranton and is buried in Washburn Cemetery.
Some say it's time for a woman to lead the country.
"I think it's a good idea. I'd like to see a woman president in my lifetime," said Ann Berardelli of Scranton. "I definitely think it's a good idea."
For her "first" stop on the campaign trail, Clinton stopped for gas at the Pilot Travel Center off the Lamar Exit of Interstate 80 Sunday afternoon in Clinton County on her way to Iowa.
Clinton's the first democrat to enter the race for 2016 and is no stranger to Washington D.C. and the political machine.
