STROUDSBURG -- Whether it's feeding baby foxes found abandoned in a parking lot or taking in a sick woodpecker, the Pocono Wildlife and Rehabilitation Center near Stroudsburg is always busy.

That's why the Sarah Street Grill decided to lend a helping hand as part of their 20th birthday celebration.

"It makes us proud. We work really hard. We have a really great motivated management team," said Christy Connolly.

"We're really excited about it. Pocono Wildlife does a lot for our community. They take in injured and sick animals and they get them back to health and release them back into the wild if they're able to," said manager Brandi Merritt.

The Stroudsburg restaurant is donating 20 percent of its sales this Monday to the wildlife center. The place is a haven for wild animals that need help and runs entirely on donations.

"To have been chosen by them, it is an honor and it happens to be one of my favorite places to eat as well. It's a great place and they're part of the community, so it means a lot," said Kathy Uhler, Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center.

The benefit comes at the end of a weekend-long birthday bash at Sarah Street, filled with live bands, good food, and fun.

On Monday, there are plenty of ways to give back.

"We have raffles, a 50/50, a pool and dart tournament where all the proceeds from that go to the foundation, so we think we're going to raise a lot of money."

Anyone who stops by at Sarah Street will also be able to meet some of the wildlife they're helping.

Uhler says this benefit comes at just the right time. They're working to raise $300,000 to buy the land where the wildlife center is located.

"These donations come at a very important time for us and it's a crucial time to purchase the property so that this place will be here for decades to come is a very important goal."

The Sarah Street Grill says they're more than happy to help.

The benefit runs all day Monday, April 13.
