WILLIAMSPORT -- The sweet sounds of patriotic tunes filled Williamsport City Hall Tuesday night.
The Repasz band from central Pennsylvania is practicing before a big show later this week.
The band dates back to 1831, and in 1865 it played the Star Spangled Banner at Appomattox Courthouse in Virginia on the day Robert E. Lee surrendered, essentially ending the Civil War.
The band was invited by the U.S. Department of Interior to attend a four-day event in Appomattox beginning April 9, marking the 150th anniversary of that historic day.
