WILKES-BARRE -- An Easter egg hunt was held at the apartment complex just hours before the double shooting at Interfaith Heights Apartments in the city.

Police say a man and a woman in their twenties were hurt and rushed to the hospital.

Now, investigators want your help to track down whoever opened fire the day before Easter in Wilkes-Barre.

It has been an emotional day for people at Interfaith Heights Apartments on Coal Street in Wilkes-Barre.

"We have numerous detectives out for Wilkes-Barre city, county detectives, state police are here, FBI, so we're not sparing any resources," said Wilkes-Barre City Police Chief Robert Hughes.

Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis says police are looking for a red van or SUV with a missing hubcap on the front passenger side.

Police say both victims were found in the hallway near the entrance to the apartment building, unconscious but alive.

Witnesses told police that red van or SUV was seen leaving the scene and investigators want to talk with whoever was inside.

"Know that these people may be armed and dangerous," said Salavantis. "They are just wanted for questioning."

This is the fourth shooting in Wilkes-Barre since Wednesday.

On Wednesday, a man was shot and killed on South Street after he gave a gun to someone, who mishandled it. On Friday morning, two people were shot outside Club Envy. On the same day, police found a man shot to death inside his home on Carey Avenue.

One city resident said, "I just want to get out of Wilkes-Barre."

Courtney Crandall has lived in Wilkes-Barre for a decade. She says seeing things like this happening so close to her home make her nervous for her safety.

"As soon as the street lights come back on I'm home," said Crandall. "I have a daughter so I don't really want to walk out with her I kind of fear for her life because she's young."

Both victims were taken to the hospital. We do not know their conditions.

Newswatch 16 reported earlier that the victims were teens. We regret the error.

Police ask that you give them a call if you have any information about that red vehicle and/or the shooting.
