STROUDSBURG -- People are already beginning to stock up on meat for the Easter feast this weekend, and in the Poconos, there's a one-stop shop near Stroudsburg featuring slow-cooked kielbasa.
Take a step outside Gary's Meat Market near Stroudsburg and in the back you'll find where all the magic happens.
The smoke house is where so many delicious meats are prepared for the Easter holiday.
"We made, yesterday, smoked alone probably well over 500 pounds, and probably with fresh and smoked, over 800 pounds," said owner Gary Oney.
Oney took the photos to prove it. All of this meat was slow cooked for about six hours this week.
Barbra Widmark of Marshalls Creek is a regular.
"I'm having a whole houseful of people coming to my house and you know who's going to be supplying 90 percent of it here."
She says the kielbasa is a must-have on her table this Easter.
"The smoked, it is such a unique smoke that it is."
"Delicious, delicious, smoked the old fashion way," said Oney. "Strictly wood fire."
Usually Gary's Meat Market has a lot of pre-orders but because it's been so cold, a lot of customers have just been walking in the front door and up to the counter, hoping there's still something to buy.
"You just come in and take your chances."
Luckily for one Stroudsburg couple, they were able to get a 15-pound smoked ham.
"This year is something special for us, so we just wanted a nice ham."
There's still time to get some orders in.
Barbara Kulick picked up a few pounds of kielbasa and says she's pretty sure this is the best around.
"That would be hard to say because we haven't tried any others."
Gary's Meat Market is open through Saturday and will close Easter Sunday and Monday.
