DUNMORE -- A ceremony in Lackawanna County honored the trooper killed in the ambush at the State Police Barracks at Blooming Grove.
A street in Dunmore is now named "Corporal Bryon K. Dickson II Way."
Dickson was shot and killed outside the Blooming Grove State Police Barracks back in September.
Borough leaders officially named the street near the Dunmore Community Center after Dickson who called the community home.
Both folks in Dunmore and state troopers say Dickson is deserving of the honor.
Dunmore Council member Thomas Hallinan said, "It was an idea that was presented to Dunmore council and we ran with it. It was the least we could do for a man that gave the ultimate sacrifice."
"To have a piece of a community named after you is an ultimate tribute. I mean it's going to be there forever," said Sgt. Brian Vennie, Pennsylvania State Police.
Corporal Dickson's widow and two sons were also at the ceremony in Lackawanna County.
The sign sits just a few blocks from the family home in Dunmore.
