SCRANTON — The city of Scranton has made a new national list and that’s not exactly a good thing.

According to that list, the Electric City is the fourth “most overindulgent” city in the country.

The website badcredit.org used statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and from an online credit reporting bureau.

They looked at obesity, heavy drinking, smoking, and consumer debt.

According to the study, nearly 32 percent of Scrantonians are obese. 7.8 percent are considered “heavy drinkers,” meaning two or more drinks a day for men and one or more a day for women. 21.5 percent of residents smoke every day and the average consumer debt for residents is nearly $29,000.

Mobile, Alabama; Great Falls, Montana; and Lafayette, Louisiana are the cities ranked more overindulgent than Scranton.
