WILLIAMSPORT -- This is the first days in two months with temperatures close to 50 degrees, and after the long wait, people took advantage of the warmer weather, spending time outside.
Abigail Yates walked her Labradoodle named Bella at Sherman Park in Williamsport. Yates says she plans to stay outside longer because the weather is nicer than it has been recently.
"For once I'm not having to walk in zero below weather and freeze and it's great because she can get outside, too," Yates said.
Temperatures in northeastern and central Pennsylvania were close to 50 degrees. Yates calls it the perfect weather to walk Bella.
"I only have a sweatshirt on for once and not a hat and gloves and everything else," Yates said.
And the lines were long at a car wash in Williamsport. A lot of people seem to have the same idea on one of the nicest days so far of 2015.
"It is beautiful out and it is now the chance to clean your car and be outside," Becky Mensch said.
"Some spring cleaning, got the house done yesterday. Now it's time to get the cars done," Derek Bacorn said.
Derek Bacorn, Becky Mensch, and their son Garrett spent the afternoon at Early Bird Carwash in Williamsport. Bacorn even wore shorts.
"It's very wonderful," Bacorn said.
"It's gorgeous and I'm excited for spring," Kaitlin Ulrich said.
Ulrich says she treated the day like a heatwave. She not only washed her car, she vacuumed it out, too.
"I wanted to get all the salt off my car so it was a good day to do it. A lot of people so instead of going through the automatic I did it myself," Ulrich said.
Lucky for all of these people, the winter warm up continues for the rest of the week.
