SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT -- Folks got together to commemorate the 100th birthday of a former mayor of South Williamsport.
Board members read a proclamation honoring David Frey at the borough's municipal building Monday night.
Frey, who served five terms as mayor, was the longest serving mayor in South Williamsport.
His birthday was actually on February 15.
Tuesday, March 10, will officially be "David Frey Day" in the borough of South Williamsport.
Frey said he was honored and humbled by the declaration.
