SCRANTON -- A pre-parade tradition took place Friday in downtown Scranton. The Irish flag was raised on Courthouse Square.

Irish step dancers entertained the small crowd that gathered outside the Lackawanna County Courthouse.

Then, bagpipes played as county commissioners and the Irish Cultural Society raised the Irish flag.

This is traditionally done the weekend before the st. Patrick's Parade in Scranton.
