SCRANTON -- Water was gushing onto a street in Scranton Wednesday after a water main broke.
An eight-inch main broke at the intersection of Birch Street and Derby Avenue on East Mountain around 1 p.m.
About 40 homes and businesses were affected by the break, including the Howard Gardner School.
Pennsylvania American Water said repairs were completed and water service was expected to be fully restored by Wednesday night.
