KINGSTON -- The snow and ice and cold weather. For some, it seems like this winter will never end.

"I've had enough. I think everybody else has, too," said George Kupstas of Kingston, who shoveled snow from in front of his home Wednesday.

Naum Gatman lives in Kingston, too. He is from Ukraine and his daughter lives there still. He sais this winter, it has been much colder here than there.

"Better warm. Warmer is much better than cold," he laughed.

Despite the fear that this winter may never end, there are some signs spring is on the way. Dairy Queen in Kingston had to delay its opening by a few hours because of some frozen lines Wednesday. But at 5 p.m. the ice cream place was open for its 52nd season and was busy.

"I think they're eager. The only kind of blizzards that people want to hear about now are the Blizzards at Dairy Queen, nothing outside. No matter what the weather outside, when Dairy Queen in Kingston opens, spring is on the way," said manager Cheryl Lewis.

The first official day of spring is March 20.

Some people are optimistic that it will eventually get here.

"I think we're coming down the homestretch. If we can just make it down these last two days of cold weather, the spring is on the way," said Ted Kerpovich of Kingston.
