TAMAQUA -- A teen is dead after a crash on Route 309 in Tamaqua.
Police said the 17-year-old girl from Nesquehoning was killed around 8 a.m. on Sunday when her car skidded on a snowy road and collided head on with an SUV.
Investigators said Autumn Young, 17, died after she was thrown from the car in the wreck.
Video sent to Newswatch 16 by Tamaquaarea.com, shows that the crash involved three vehicles.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital. Police said her injuries are not life threatening.
The wreck closed down the road for about two hours.
"The weather, the roads are bad, everybody said it's really a bad situation for such a young girl to lose her life," said Sharon Keich, Tamaqua.
Keich works at the Hess Express about a mile from the scene of the crash. That store gave out hot coffee for first responders.
Students at Panther Valley High School, where Young was a senior, are mourning her loss.
