WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP -- It was another frigid morning which meant it was time to thaw out more pipes including homes in Luzerne County.

With a heat gun in tow, it was off to check out the pipes at this home in Wilkes-Barre Township.

"I got up this morning and nothing in the bathroom worked. I had no cold water. I had hot water, but no cold water," homeowner Charles Estock said.

Estock said he didn't bother trying to fix the pipes himself.

"No, no, I wasn't about to attempt that. There have been two fires on the news in the last week. Not going there," Estock said.

Workers at C.W. Schultz & Son tell Newswatch 16 they have been very busy these last few weeks. The busy times means a lot of business.

"As much as we don't like to push work away we tell them you know we're jammed up for two, three, four hours and whatever it might be.  If they just wait it out we'll gradually get there," general manager Leonard Martin said.

In the back of the crawl space, a few minutes with the heat gun opened the line up.

"You need to get heat in places that normally don't have heat. It's just way too cold and if you don't have heat in your basement they are just bound to freeze eventually," technician Mike Conte said.

When it came to pay the bill, the homeowner was happy to have his water back.

"I was lucky enough I called them and they were here in a few hours, so I'm glad to have a rapport with them," Estock said.

"Sometimes it takes a half an hour. Sometimes it takes three hours. So, it's just one of those things you're not sure until you walk in the door to see what you have," Conte said.
