UNIVERSITY PARK -- The annual dance marathon at Penn State, better known as THON, has done it again.

Students danced non-stop for near two days and it was all to help kids.

Once they stood up, they didn't sit down for 46 hours.

"It's the best thing that you can do at Penn State. It's the best part of the year," said Joshua Williams, Jim Thorpe. "It's what makes February so great in my opinion."

All weekend long, thousands of people packed the Bryce Jordan Center in State College for the 2015 THON event, a fundraiser that helps fight pediatric cancer.

"When you look at the stats, $0.96 for every dollar, is amazing. The community is amazing," said Alec Taren, Wilkes-Barre. "Everyone says when you come to Penn State you have to join THON and they are right."

The organization helps people like Beth Carey of Dallas. Beth was diagnosed with cancer when she was 15.

"This is actually our 10th THON this year."

Beth was also a 2012 THON dancer. She said shes thrilled to be involved with an organization that once danced for her.

"It's just an incredible experience to be apart of and I know the families truly appreciate it," said Beth.

Up and down a hallway at the Bryce Jordan Center, they have the family feature wall and it really gives the dancers motivation when they look up at all the signs and the families on them.

There were some familiar faces at THON with a family from Mountain Top and another from Williamsport.

"One of the best parts is when you see them here they are so happy. They are going through so much and it just feels so good to make it a little bit easier for them," said a THON attendee.

"If I can do anything to help those kids, or kids that I don't know, I want to be able to do it," said Sabrina Krupko, Penn State Hazleton.

Last year, Krupko, was in the stands cheering. This year she was being cheered for.

She said despite the sore legs and lack of sleep, it's a memory she will hold for years to come.

"I find it an extreme honor. My campus, I want thank my campus for voting for me and giving me this position. It means the world to me," said Krupko.

And once this year's numbers were revealed, the crowds went wild and there was not a dry eye in the stands or on the floor.

$13, 026, 653. 23 was raised for the kids and another successful year is in the books.
