BENTON TOWNSHIP --The weather didn't keep people away from a fishing derby in Lackawanna County.
About 100 people came out to go ice fishing at Lackawanna State Park Saturday.
People we spoke with said even though it's cold, the conditions for ice fishing couldn't be beat.
"You can't beat the ice because it's thick and safe and really good for the fisherman," said tournament chairman Eric Kris.
Money raised at the ice fishing derby goes to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
This was the fifth year for the event in Lackawanna County.
