WILKES-BARRE -- One man was taken to the hospital after an early morning fire in Luzerne County.
Authorities said the fire started at a double block home on the 300 block of River Street around 4 a.m. Friday.
According to the fire chief, there were two people inside the home at the time. One man was taken to a VA Medical Center for breathing in too much smoke, and a woman sat in an ambulance to keep warm.
Firefighters said a couple of pets are missing.
The American Red Cross is helping the fire victims.
There is no word on what caused the fire.
