LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- Sunday's storm is already having quite an effect across the area as people get ready for not just the snow, but the big game, too.

The parking lot was packed and the inside of Gerrity's in Moosic was just as busy. The manager says when the snow's coming, they prepare for a crowd. When it's Super Bowl Sunday, they prepare for a crowd. When it's both of those, they do their best to stay on top of it all.

"We have a super hoagie for the Super Bowl and the super snowstorm," said Dave Murray of Moosic. "Nobody wants to be around late when the snow comes, so in case we get stuck, we got plenty of food."

The rush wasn't limited to grocery stores either. With the snow that we're expecting, workers at places like Boots & Hanks Towing & Recovery say they have been preparing for several days.

It's a clean and pristine fleet of tow trucks ready to go in Scranton. But rest assured, they won't look nearly as clean when the snow is all said and done.

"We have all these trucks with different applications and we're prepared for the worst," said Anthony Osticco.

On top of local car and truck troubles, the crew here is contracted by the state to be at the ready for any potential crashes that could happen on the highways. That means Osticco is adding ten more members to his crew for the night.

"We can rotate guys in and out and everybody will be well rested," Osticco added.

But when it comes to the roads on Super Bowl Sunday, Osticco says the big game might help keep people off the road, or at least until Penn DOT trucks can clear the way.

"A lot of people are going to be staying home, parties and what not, and I think people are leaning more toward staying home."
