SCRANTON -- If you plan on ordering food for Super Bowl Sunday, you can pretty much expect a wait, especially if you wait until the last minute. The wait could be exponentially longer with plenty of snow expected to start falling as early as noon Sunday.

Preparation was already underway Saturday at Kelly's Pub and Eatery in Scranton. The business expects to cook 25,000 wings for takeout for the big game, nearly five times as many as they would on a typical weekend.

"We add extra fryers, so we have four fryers and we double our staff. We order lots of bleu cheese and lots of celery," said Trish Laboranti with Kelly's Pub & Eatery.

Laboranti said they started prepping on Thursday, getting everything out and ready, including dozens of bottles of sauce. She doesn't even open the restaurant because demand for takeout is so high.

On top of the added orders, business owners say they're also preparing for more snow.

"We do have a lot of people calling back and ordering their wings to pick up a lot earlier than they planned," Laboranti said.

Jeff Rosario of Matarazzo's Pizza and Subs in Scranton said they are prepared for the snow.

"We have some reliable vehicles here with four-wheel drive."

Rosario is used to dealing with issues on Super Bowl weekend. This year it's snow, last year it was the massive water main break that affected hundreds of homes and businesses.

"We used a lot of fresh water. Sam's Club made a lot of money off us last year," Rosario said.

"By the time Super Bowl Sunday came on, most people made plans on going somewhere else. So it definitely affected us a great deal," said Mario Leomburni with Minooka Pub.

But this time around, area businesses say they won't let something get in their way, even if it ends up being quite a lot of snow.

'A lot of our customers and clientele are local. They live right down the road, so no matter snow, a foot of snow, two inches of snow, they're coming," said Danielle Permuto with Minooka Pub.

Snow is in the forecast for game time, so businesses recommend getting your order in early so you have everything ready for kickoff.
