DELAWARE WATER GAP -- If you live in the Poconos and use the Martz Bus to commute into New York City for work, the last bus left the Delaware Water Gap station at 2:20 p.m. Monday.

Buses headed to the Poconos will be running out of Port Authority in New York until 7 p.m. Monday.

It's all because of this massive snow storm that's expected to hit the city hard. We found travelers hitting the road, trying to beat the weather.

Commuters and other bus riders lined up Monday morning at the Delaware Water Gap Martz station, trying to get into New York City before the storm.

Isis Rosario is trying to get back to Brooklyn by 1:30 p.m. to teach school.

"I didn't realize that we were going to have such a huge storm, and now I am a little nervous about the roads and getting back into the city," said Rosario.

Six bus routes were canceled through New York and New Jersey all because of the heavy snow expected to slam the city, and much of the Northeast.

"Oh my goodness, well, thank God I'm on the next one that leaves in 15 minutes," said Rosario.

Because of this snow storm Martz Trailways buses won't be able to drive into or out of those states until the emergency bans are lifted.

One commuter from Marshalls Creek decided to hop on this bus on her day off.

"I'm rushing to go home in case I'll be able to work tomorrow," said Susan Lezeu of Marshalls Creek.

Lezeu works at a salon in Queens and says she wants to make sure she can get to work, just in case her shop opens.

"You know some people they live in the city, maybe they just walking distance. So you feel bad not to be there in case they need you," said Lezeu.

Others are hoping to get into NYC and make the return trip back to the Poconos before the last bus leaves from Port Authority.

"Today is the last day that she should register for spring semester, so this is very important for us, so we came and we pray," said Zhana Bidibkova of East Stroudsburg.

Others are headed to the Borough of Manhattan Community College, and they have a backup plan just in case they get snowed in.

"We have some friends in New York. If we cannot come back maybe we'll stay there," said Bidibkova.

For anyone who has a commuter bus ticket, Martz Trailways has an extended expiration on them for situations just like this. Weekly tickets can be used within eight days.

Tentative bus schedules for tomorrow have been set by Martz Trailway officials on their website, but those plans are contingent on roads in New York and New Jersey being open to bus travel.
