MAHANOY TOWNSHIP -- A high-speed chase across Luzerne and Schuylkill Counties ended with troopers having to pin in the suspect with their cruisers.
The chase finally ended off the Interstate 81 exit near Mahanoy City.
State police said Robert Lewis, 36, of Pittston, took off when Pittston police tried to serve a warrant on him around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Troopers said the suspect reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour in the southbound lanes on Interstate 81.
Police were finally able to stop him after he ran over spikes twice. He then jumped through his car roof before being captured down an embankment along Route 54 in Schuylkill County.
Two state troopers and the suspect taken to the hospital and a third trooper was also injured.
Lewis faces a list of charges including assault and reckless driving.
