STEVENSVILLE- A meat shop in Bradford County is off to a fresh start this year in Bradford County along Route 706 just outside of Wyalusing.

Last June, Dotti Lou Meats was destroyed after a fire started in the ceiling.

Customers hoped the family owned business would rebuild.

"I have bought many hams and things here. I just though this is the end, but Jerilynn saved us," Thelma Thomas of Leraysville said.

Jerilynn Scavazzo, one of the owners of the shop said it was the customers and the community that brought them back.

"The outpouring of support not only monetary and their kind words. That was actually the motivation behind this. Picking up the pieces and going forward," Jerilynn Scavazzo said.

It took nearly seven months to rebuild Dotti Lou Meats after fire destroyed the building last summer.

For the people who work at the business, they say they're grateful to have a job that they enjoy, to come back to.

"My house burned down three years ago too. Then this. So, I just hope that I never go through it ever again" employee Kelly Allen said.

Kelly Allen is one of the 10 employees who is back on the job.

Employees say they're enjoying the new additions to the building.

Owners say it's a lot bigger, has higher ceilings and there are more features behind what you can see at the counter.

"It's just gorgeous, just wonderful. I couldn't have ever imagined it this beautiful," Allen said.

Loyal customers are also happy to have the family owned business open again.

"It's fantastic, I'm happy to have them back open close to my doorstep . I'm only three miles away," Travis Knapp of Camptown said.

Dotti Lou Meats will have its grand reopening Saturday at noon.
