STROUDSBURG -- A surprise motion was entered in Monroe County Court, as a man scheduled to be sentenced for his connection to a drive-by shooting in the Poconos a year ago this week withdrew his guilty plea.

Brandon Wilson now could go to trial for the shooting death of Darcey Kravchenko.

Walking into the courtroom, Brandon Wilson was supposed to be sentenced for his role in the death of a Monroe County man one year ago this week.

"'Brandon, anything you'd like to say?"

"No, not really," said Wilson.

Last July, Wilson pleaded guilty to murder in the third degree as an accomplice for the drive-by shooting in Hamilton Township that left Darcey Kravchenko dead.

Wilson is just one of five people charged in relation to this homicide, and now he is claiming he had nothing to do with the drive-by shooting at all, withdrawing his guilty plea.

He told a judge, "I'm not guilty, your honor."

"Brandon, you're saying you're not guilty now?"

"I'm not guilty," he replied.

"You didn't do the shooting?"

"No," said Wilson.

Now Wilson faces the possibility of trial.

State police say Wilson and three others went to Kravchenko's home on Timber Road last January, looking for his son Brandon, who reportedly ripped off their friend in a drug deal.

Jacqueline Harrigan, Bruce Murray, and Kaylynn Bunnell all have pleaded guilty last spring to third degree murder as accomplices. They have yet to be sentenced.

Now that Wilson has withdrawn his guilty plea, he faces an open count of criminal homicide. That means if he's found guilty, he could face up to a lifetime in prison without parole.
