UPDATE -- The out of business message was taken down and movie times were listed on the theater's website on Monday.

SCRANTON -- Business hasn't exactly been booming in downtown Scranton these days with two stores closing for good Saturday in the Mall at Steamtown.

Now, there are some mixed messages about the fate of a movie theater.

The website for the Marquee Cinemas states it is closed for good: "Sorry we are closed, we would like to thank you for your support and patronage over the years."

However on Sunday, the theater on Lackawanna Avenue was absolutely open.

Ari Ziegler and his family just saw a "Night at the Museum" and said if they had seen the website, they would have stayed away.

"That's like saying, 'No, don't come in here. We don't want money.' That is weird," said Ziegler.

Another couple saw the website but came anyway.

"I didn't know if I had the right theater or not. He knew where we were going so I just went with it, just walked in," said Cindy Holeva of Atlanta.

Workers at the theater in Lackawanna County didn't want to speak on camera, but said they are not too concerned about the situation and don't think it's a sign the cinema will close. They said that the website is operated by corporate headquarters, but they could not reach management there because it was the weekend.

The Ziegler family said now they understand why they practically had the place to themselves.

"I think a company would rather do opposite of that. Come on in and enjoy our movies or something," said Ari.

Newswatch 16 called the theater's corporate headquarters, but they were closed for the weekend.

Sunday evening the Scranton multiplex was showing films including "Mockingjay Part 1," "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," or even "The Penguins of Madagascar."
